Inequality is at extreme proportions. Across the world the 85 richest people have as much wealth as the 3.5 billion poorest, and it’s getting worse. Tax dodging is robbing developing countries of billions of dollars every year whilst more and more wealth is being concentrated in the hands of a few very wealthy people. All of this undermines efforts to eradicate poverty. (https://www.thunderclap.it/engreat/projects/14700-act-on-growing-inequality-now)

The G20 has the power to fix this. But money buys influence and the rules are rigged in favour of the rich. But we have numbers on our side. If we speak in unison we can be heard above the whispers of vested interests and get the G20 to act.

By concentrating wealth and power in the hands of the few, inequality robs the poorest people of the support they need to improve their lives, and means that their voices go unheard. If the global community fails to curb widening inequality, we can expect more economic and social problems, undermining efforts to eradicate poverty. Call on the G20 to crack down on tax dodging so developing countries don’t lose vital revenues they need to tackle poverty.
